Procurement of Goods for URBAN Water Supply
1. The invitation for the bids follows the General procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the United Nations Development Business issue number CR3945 of 25th May 2006.
2. The Government of Sierra Leone has received a credit from the International Development Association towards the cost of Sierra Leone Power and Water Project, and it intends to apply part of this credit to payments under the Contract subcomponent.
3. The Guma Valley Water Company now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the following;

4 Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the guideline.

6 Qualification requirements include:
a) Financial Capability:
The bidder shall furnish documentary evidence that it meet the following financial requirement(s):
Bank statement and /or audited account showing liquidity position of bidder, or letter of conform from a reputable bank showing quantum of Loan accessible to bidder.
b) Experience and technical capacity.
During the last five (5) years, the bidders must have completed successful two (2) similar assignments.
c) The bidder shall furnish documentary evidence to demonstrate that the Goods it offers meet the following usage requirement: operational in tropical conditions.
7 A complete set of Bidders Document in English Language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of non-refundable fee of 250,000.00 83 US Dollars. The methods of payment will be by direct deposit into Standard Charted Bank Account Number 01-001-00-20900. Bidders who wish that the bidding document be sent by courier service should pay an additional amount of 150 US Dollars.
8 Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 4:00p.m. On 22nd September 2006. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidder’s representatives who choose to attend in the person at the address below at 4: 00 p.m. on 22nd September 2006. All bids must be accompanied by a “Bid Security” of “Bid-Securing Declaration” of at least 2% of bid price or an equivalent amount in freely convertible currency.
